NT2525 Course Introduction

The purpose of this course is to understand how God has revealed Himself preeminently in the person of Christ organically and progressively throughout the pages of the New Testament. Particular focus will be given to the development of specific, theological themes presented in the Gospels and Acts, the Pauline Corpus, Hebrews, and Revelation. Through readings and seminars, we will also pay special attention to the God-With-Us/Temple theme throughout the Scriptures, culminating in NT revelation. Text-critical issues, dates, authorship, and general historical background of various books of the New Testament will also be examined.

  1. Students will be able to understand major theological themes of the New Testament and how they arise and develop from the text of Scripture.
  2. Students will understand the various theological contributions, along with historical background information, of many of the various books of the New Testament.   
  3. Students will be able to demonstrate competence in the formation of biblical theology as a discipline.
