PT5521 Week 2
Welcome to “Week 2” of Introduction to Theological Research and Writing! The lecture and reading for Week 2 will introduce the topics of reading, notes, organization of research, and definitions.
This week’s assignments:
- Watch the lecture for week 2. Please do not make copies of lecture recordings. You can view them within the course as many times as needed.
- Read Turabian pp. 1-24.
- Read Vyhmeister chaps. 11, 16.
- Write and submit one reflection paragraph on Kapic and one reflection paragraph on Pazmiño. See the suggested outline under the “Materials” tab. Please download a copy of this document and do not update it in the LMS directly.
- Submit the ITRW Worksheet.
You should write and submit via email two reflection paragraphs that are about 5-7 sentences each. Use headings in bold font for each paragraph. According to the Turabian style guide, you need two blank lines before a heading (except at the top of a page) and one blank line after it. Please submit these paragraphs as a Word document with Times New Roman, 12-point font and double-space your work.
Also, the ITRW Worksheet is due this week. You will need two sources for this assignment: (1) the 9th edition of Turabian’s A Manual for Writers of Term Papers, Theses, and Dissertations and (2) the BTS Form and Style Guide, which may be found at https://assets.website-files.com/659cb6a885188c3d1591c776/65cea3896219a940bc4840b0_BTS%20Turabian%20Supplement%202020%20(1)%20(1).pdf.
If you have not done so already, review the list of research topics in the syllabus and email me the research topic of your choice. Also, please be sure to email the signed student agreement at the end of the syllabus.
